Lets start at the beginning, when and how did you and your partner meet?
Thomas and I met nearly 7 years ago at The Royal Croquet Club… the very first one in Victoria Square. It was a fun night out and we met on the dance floor. We’ve been together ever since.
Tell us about the proposal ..
The proposal was very us – relaxed, chilled and intimate. I was in my sweats and had no make-up on, it was perfect. Thomas booked a beautiful air bnb in the Adelaide Hills for the weekend and he cooked us a delicious meal to celebrate over by the fire, Gin and Soda in hand. I will never forget the feeling or the moment. It is so special.
The Dress! Tell us about your experience finding the dress .. How did you decide on the one?
Caleche was the first bridal boutique I visited… and it was the last. When I met the team at Caleche I felt comfortable and in good hands so the rest was history! I didn’t feel the need to look any further. I had a very clear vision and the team embraced it and guided me through it from the technical/logistical side of things. They truly made my dream dress… not to mention the veil. I felt so me and so comfortable and that was super important to me.
Can you give us some details on your wedding location?
Thomas and I got married at Waverly Estate in Port Elliot. Much like the dress, it was the first and the last venue we visited. We knew as soon as we saw it that it was the one! We are both from Italian backgrounds and love the culture that we were born into and the venue really lent itself to just that! And since we couldn’t get to Italy due to COVID, this was the perfect alternative. Plus the entire family could stay on the premises so it was like a mini getaway for both families, which really made everyone relaxed and in the moment. It was a dream venue and we couldn’t have been happier with how the day looked – it was magic.
What was your favourite moment of the day?
Walking down the aisle for sure. There is nothing like that moment. It is the scariest part but it is also one of the most important and monumental. I will never forget the emotions I felt in that moment.
Hens Day! If you had one, please tell us all about it!
My hens day was so fun. We had lunch at Fergs in Stepney and then headed to my place for the evening. It was a small and intimate group of only the nearest and dearest women in my life. It was quite overwhelming having all those people there just to celebrate you… I felt very grateful.
Lastly, is there any advice or words of wisdom you have for future brides?
Getting married during COVID taught me a lot. And even though it caused pain at times, it also brought many positive things… I didn’t have the head space to stress over the little things – things that I would have stressed about without COVID and for that I am actually thankful. I am sure every bride and groom feels so grateful on their special day but COVID made me truly stop and take in every single moment of the day. I could still cry just thinking about how amazing our day was and I would not change a single thing.
