FAQ

CALECHE BOUTIQUE

Do I need to book an appointment?

We always recommend booking an appointment before visiting the Calèche boutique. We cannot always guarantee that there will be a fitting room and consultant available for walk ins. If you book an appointment you are securing your spot and you are our priority!

Do you charge for appointments?

No, there is no fee for an appointment at Calèche.

How long is an appointment?

If you book an appointment you will have one and half hours in the Calèche boutique with one of our consultants.

How many guests can I bring with me to my appointment?

You may bring TWO guests with you to your consultation appointment and ONE guest to your fitting. We set limitations on the amount of people in our boutique and fitting room at one time to provide the best experience for you, our other brides and our staff members.

Can I take photos during my appointment?

We ask that you do not take photos of our custom designs during your appointment. However, images of all our Calèche Collections are available on our website for you to see.

What do I need to know before my appointment?

You don’t need to know anything. However, there are certainly a few things that might make your experience a little less overwhelming for you. To start, it may be helpful to have an idea of the style of your wedding before you begin looking at gowns. This will really help you narrow down your dress style. Also, you may want to look at our collections online before your appointment in order to see which styles you definitely want to try on. Writing down the names of these styles beforehand is helpful and can save you time when browsing at the beginning of your appointment. You may very well change your mind when you see the gowns in person, but it certainly doesn’t hurt.

GOWNS

What is the price range for your gowns?

Our sample gowns and ready-to-wear (made in a standard size) gowns start from around $2500. Our made-to-measure gowns range in price anywhere from $4,000 to $10,000. The average price of our gowns being between $5,000 and $8,000.

What is the difference between made to measure and buying off the rack?

We design and make all our gowns in our Norwood boutique. This gives us the luxury of being able to fit your gown to you. If you see a gown off the rack that you like you can either have it made to fit you or buy the sample directly off the rack. If you have it made to fit you, we call that made-to-measure. If you choose to order your gown to be made in a standard size we call that ready-to-wear. If you buy the sample gown and have it altered, we call that off the rack. You can read more about this here.

If you are making significant changes to one of our existing styles, or looking for something completely custom, we call that bespoke. Read more about the difference between off-the-rack, ready-to-wear, made-to-measure and bespoke here.

Can I alter the design of an off the rack gown?

Absolutely! Our sample gowns are there to inspire you. You can see what shape you fall in love with and then customize it to become your dream bespoke gown.

What is the size range of your sample gowns?

We have a range of different sizes in our boutique for you to try. Ranging from size 6 to size 22.

PROCESS

What is the lead time for a Calèche gown?

At Calèche bridal house we offer an exclusive, individual made-to-measure experience. We work with all of our brides throughout a 8-12 month long fitting process to ensure the perfect fit. To ensure your spot with us we highly recommend starting your dress journey at least one year before your wedding date.

What if I have a short timeline?

As we make the gowns in our Adelaide boutique, we are able to work within a short timeframe if need be. However, this is dependent on our in-house fabric stock and the production workload of our workroom.

How many fittings will I have?

During your made to measure process we will see you for a total of 3-4 fittings in the Calèche boutique, not including your measurements appointment. These fittings take place in the four months leading up to your wedding day, with the final fitting taking place the week before. Read more about the fitting process here.
