JENNA & ADAM

Read all about the details behind Calèche real bride Jenna and Husband Adam’s beautiful garden wedding. The ceremony and reception took place in the beautifully manicured green gardens of Mandalay House and Gardens in the Adelaide Hills.

Lets start at the beginning, when and how did you and your partner meet?

Adam and I officially met at our local University pub, The Tonsley, back in 2019. Ever since then, I’ve been smitten.

Tell us about the proposal ..

Adam proposed to me on his 30th birthday! We had plans to celebrate his birthday at Beach Road Wines with both of our families at lunch and prior to that he had booked us in for a luxurious couples massage. After the massage, we stopped for coffee and donuts and parked at the beach. While enjoying one of the best donuts I’ve ever had, he brought out a scrapbook that we have with all of our photos from festivals, travels etc. He mentioned he had put more photos into the scrapbook from our latest travels, which I flipped through to find ‘Will you marry me?’ on the last page. I was over the moon and we were so excited to then surprise both of our families with our engagement at his 30th birthday lunch! There was a lot of happy tears, laughter and champagne to follow.

The Dress! Tell us about your experience finding the dress .. How did you decide on the one?

I was always pretty sure I was going to get my wedding dress custom made. I liked different aspects of a couple dresses I had found online, and was adamant of putting them all together to make the perfect combo for me. I showed Libbi what I was after, and she so easily drew my dream dress onto paper. It was such an exciting thing to see! I was pretty much sold then and there and celebrated with my Mum and my bridesmaids with champagne and lunch at Stone’s Throw. The process from there was smooth sailing. I worked closely in my fittings with the lovely Daniella and she made everything so easy.

Jenna’s gown was a custom design. To book a custom consultation with Calèche please visit our contact us page and fill out the booking form to make an appointment.

Can you give us some details on your wedding location?

We had our wedding at Mandalay House and Garden. As soon as we entered the venue, we were both in awe. We saw the ceremony spot, with the lush green trees and I cried – it was the one! We wouldn’t have wanted to get married anywhere else.

What was your favourite moment of the day?

My favourite moment of the day was walking down the aisle and seeing Adam at the end. He looked so handsome, had the biggest smile on his face, and then started crying – that will forever be my favourite memory.

Hens Day! If you had one, please tell us all about it!

Mum and my girls threw me the most fabulous hens day. They hosted it at my Mum’s house, where they had a bartender make the most divine cocktails. My brother and dad cooked us all paella for lunch and the whole space they had put together looked like a chic, european, wonderland. It was absolutely beautiful.

Lastly, is there any advice or words of wisdom you have for future brides?

Make sure to have a coordinator on the day of your wedding so you can take it all in and not have to worry about anything! SO worth it.
