SUBBUH & JACK

Calèche real bride Subbuh and partner Jack’s Adelaide Hills wedding featured the beautiful lake at Glen Ewin Estate as the backdrop to their garden ceremony. Read all about the details of this beautiful wedding below.

Lets start at the beginning, when and how did you and your partner meet?

We both worked in the same hospital but had never seen each other. It wasn’t until we matched on an app and started chatting that we realised we worked right near each other for so long!

Tell us about the proposal ..

I was in Sydney for a course and Jack came along for the weekend to make a holiday out of it. We spent an incredible day in the Blue Mountains with a friend of ours. When we arrived back he told me he had a surprise planned. He had arranged a private boat for us to spend the evening on Sydney Harbour under the city lights and popped the question in front of the opera house! It was so romantic out on the water!

The Dress! Tell us about your experience finding the dress .. How did you decide on the one?

I actually set out thinking I wanted to buy something off the rack so I would know exactly what I would be wearing and know that I loved it. I went to so many places in Adelaide and in Melbourne but didn’t find ‘the one’. I had heard amazing things about Caleche and was super excited to come in. I tried on a particular dress and immediately fell in love with the fabric but the style wasn’t right for me. The team were wonderful in helping me take my dream fabric to create a custom design that was timeless and elegant.

Subbuh’s gown is based on the Ornella gown, with a lined bodice and a slimmer skirt.

Can you give us some details on your wedding location?

We were married at The Pulpshed at Glen Ewin Estate. It’s a stunning venue with a picturesque lake that was the backdrop for our ceremony.

What was your favourite moment of the day?

We snuck away for some photos at a paddock on a hill just a few minutes drive away. The sunset was magical, we loved having some time away from all the excitement alone to reflect on the day and enjoy the moment.

Hens Day! If you had one, please tell us all about it!

My beautiful bridesmaids organised the perfect day. It included a garden party, some artistic expression and painting, a dinner at one of my favourite places and dancing of course!

Lastly, is there any advice or words of wisdom you have for future brides?

Try not to get too caught up in all the stress of planning and endless to do lists, enjoy the process and the special moments that come along the way!
